On Sunday 18th May it was the first day of Men’s Pennant Finals which was held at the Werribee Park Golf Course. It was an early cold but dry start for some at 6.30 am with the first Matches starting at 7.30 am.
There were 4 Divisions off the 1st Tee and 3 Divisions off the 10th Tee with the second match being a Division 1 Scratch Semi Final between Waterford Valley and Dorset.
The results are as follows:
Div 1 Scratch Semi – Waterford Valley def Dorset 5.5 to 2.5
Div 1 Handicap – Northcote Green def Yarraview 4.5 to 3.5
Div 2 Handicap – Northcote Gold def Mt Martha 5 to 3
Div 3 Handicap – Elsternwick Red def Royal Park 5.5 to 2.5
Div 4 Handicap – Ringwood def Westgate No 1 4.5 to 3.5
Div 5 Handicap – Altona Lakes Lakers def Dorset Devils 5 to 3
Div 6 Handicap – Elsternwick Black def Glen Waverley Black on the first Play Off Hole.
Congratulations to all the winners on the day and a special congratulations to Mason Sharp of Altona Lakes who had a Hole in One on the Par 3 15th Hole which was his first. All the players from both sides were extremely excited for Mason although it was hard for Mark Benfield to replicate it with his Tee shot.
A special thank you to Andrew Philips our new Executive Manager for his organising of the day, which ran very smoothly and then he went on to be in the winning Division 2 Northcote Gold Side.
