Monday the 18th of May saw the running of the second VGL Women’s Event for the 2026 season, with the Joan Hope Salver played at the Rosanna Golf Club.
The largest field since 2017 saw 88 Women brave the overcast and threatening conditions to represent their clubs. Some great rounds were had by the participants with the top 10 players in both A and B Grades scoring 35 points or better. Both grades had very tight finishes with the winner in both grades having a winning score of 38 points!
In A Grade three players finished on top with 38 points with a count back used to determine the placings of the top three. In the end it was Sandra Grieve from Albert Park Women’s who took out A Grade with Bong Park (Glen Waverley) and Sally Diserio (Lakeside) taking out the minor placings.

In B Grade Mary Habour from Oakleigh with 38 points came out on top by a point from four other players who finished with 37 points. The 2nd and 3rd placings were once again determined by a countback with Eugena Kwak (Glen Waverley) and Linda Henderson (Wattle Park Ladies) taking out the minor placings.
