On Sunday 23rd of August the VGL Men’s Teams Event was held at Melbourne Airport Golf Club. In a likely record turnout for the Teams Event players from 31 of the VGL’s 32 “Men’s” clubs made the trip to the course for a 7:30am shotgun start.
At the end of the day, it was Creekside who won the trophy for the second time and the first time since 1996, taking out the trophy in a countback (best 4th player score) from Dorset, with Nepean a two points further back in third.

In the Individual Event not one of the 125 players who played managed better their handicap with the best score for the day being 35 (four players) despite the day being unusually “still” for Melbourne Airport Golf Course. Will Williams (Olinda) won the event on a countback from Cameron Hose (Nepean), John Volpe (Dorset) and Philip Pragnell (Ringwood).
