The Victorian Golf League is participating in the 2025 Country week. This is a competition arranged by Golf Australia (Vic Division) every year for a matchplay competition between the districts. This year’s event is being played in the Mildura area.
We will be entering a Men’s and Women’s team into the event. There will be a squad of 10 players (men’s and women’s) chosen to represent the Victorian Golf League. The V.G.L. will supply Team Managers.
This year the V.G.L. Men’s Golf Committee are asking each club to nominate any number of MALE and/or FEMALE players from their club who want and can represent the Victorian Golf League.
Players will be required to be available from Sunday 28th September until Wednesday 1st October.

Eligibility
- Current member of your club.
- Male – single figure GA handicap
- Female – GA Handicap of 18 or less.
Note the following competition rule
- Players must have played a minimum of 10 competition rounds at either the affiliated country club or in designated District events in the preceding twelve months for the player to be eligible.
- The preceding 12 months is the 12 months before 30 September 2025.
Note: Non-stroke Club or District events such as District Pennant or club match play events (as approved by the Match Committee) will also count towards the minimum of 10 competition rounds.
Exception: Upon application, the Match Committee will consider an exemption
Requirements
- There will 5 matches played over 3 days – 2 on Monday & Tuesday, and 1 on Wednesday.
- Eight players per team, all players in squad will get at least 2 games.
- Must be prepared to play in morning & afternoon rounds if required.
- All players need to arrive on Sunday and not leave until Wednesday rounds are completed.
Note: (a Sunday practice game is included in the package for those who arrive early enough. Players wanting to play the practice round will need to let the VGL know at least a week in advance)

- 3 nights’ accommodation
- Lunch x 3 (supplied by course)
- Travel expense – $80.00 per car, plus $40 per additional player / official in each car.
- Meal allowance $40.00 (per day)
- 2 VGL Logo shirts (new players only).
Given how far away the even is, the VGL strongly encourages players to carpool where possible. Whilst accommodation is currently only booked for Sunday, Monday and Tuesday nights, the VGL is prepared to pay for accommodation in Mildura on Wednesday night so as though people do not have to travel back to Melbourne after the Wednesday match. Those wishing to take up this option will need to inform the Executive Manager after the team is finalised.
Players may wish to bring a caddy, which they are able, however, the V.G.L. will not be accommodating or providing any financial assistance to them.
Nominations will only be acceptance via the online nomination form which club secretaries have access to.
